Haojing Yan

Congratulations to Prof. Haojing Yan! He is this year's recipient of the 2017 Provost Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award! The award gives special recognition to junior faculty, who are in the early phases of their careers, for superior research and creative activity on the MU campus.

Prof. Haojing Yan is a renowned expert in the study of galaxy formation and evolution, and was one of the major scientists who pushed the boundary of the observable universe to the redshift of 10, the highest that could be reached by our current facilities. He has been playing a leading role in continuuing the community's effort to push this boundary even further, which will soon be within our reach thanks to NASA's James Webb Space Telescope to be launched in 2018.
