2026 Physics Leaders’ Meeting and Alumni Reunion
The 2026 Physics Leaders’ Meeting and Alumni Reunion will bring together department alumni, faculty, students, and friends of the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Missouri. The event aims to strengthen connections among alumni and current members of the department, showcase recent faculty and student accomplishments, and provide opportunities to discuss the department’s future.Activities will include faculty and student presentations, a tour of the Physics Building, a meeting with the dean of the College of Arts and Science, an awards banquet, and social events. The overall goal is to foster engagement, celebrate the department’s community and achievements, and build lasting relationships that support its continued growth and success.

Department of Physics & Astronomy Distinguished Alumni Awards
Do you know a fellow MU Physics and Astronomy alumnus that meets the following criteria for a department alumni award? If so, email us the requested information and we will add the nomination to our files.
Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate degree must have been received from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Missouri.
Additional considerations:
- Exceptional achievement or research;
- Exceptional service;
- Demonstrated distinction in field;
- Unique Career (could be outside of physics)
The nominator must email the following to umcasphysics@missouri.edu:
- a nominating letter summarizing the qualifications of proposed nominee (include degree and year received)
- CV of nominee
